Making good product is about relationships: the intersection of people, product and environment.
I value an eclectic and diverse design team along with a strong, vibrant supply chain that makes ideas tangible.
When that harmony is achieved we can make our world a little more beautiful and a lot more functional.
Working with companies that are built on integrity and champion ethical supply chain management And a healthier impact on our environment through manufacturing.
I’m excited to find a position where I can create positive change through thoughtful and purposeful design.
Fabric, Fabric, and more Fabric!
I want to develop and create with textiles in any shape or form, and more specifically I'd like to find myself working with sustainable textiles.
I'm looking for a diverse and inclusive team that celebrates adventurous spirit.
Being highly visually oriented I am likely to remember what you were wearing before I'll remember your name, but its this skill I leverage to connect colors, themes and feelings to a product.
I am an idea factory and love the energy that comes from creative collaboration. Designing outside the box is exactly how I came to have a US Patent for athletic wear with my name on it. A design, I am proud to say, has been sported by the US Olympic Women's Fast-Pitch Softball team.
While an empathetic nature can be seen as a soft spot, I've always used this core part of my personality to forge important relationships. This skill has allowed me to connect with textiles mills all over the world, at one point, supporting 30+ mills. Those connections allowed me to get the right fabrics into the hands to the designers and accounts I managed while in textile sales.
Most recently I've harnessed my passion for sustainability, and ethical production to influence the fabric collections sold at a small, independent, fabric boutique. My curiosity and excitement to influence change in how we interact with fabrics and our environment has lead to thoughtful pattern design, and educational series that focus on sustainable living and textiles.
I am very comfortable in the space between creativity and business. Often times you find people who specialize in one or the other, I function in both worlds very intuitively, which is why I double majored in Design and Production Management at FIT, earning degrees in both concentrations.
Being dynamic in the garment industry has always served me well and for 6 years I was able to spend time on ‘both sides of the table’ as they say, designing, curating, developing, and selling textiles.
Most recently I’ve held the position of Design Director (5yrs), where I’ve designed products, managed textile acquisitions, developed educational courses as well as launched community outreach and charity programs for the boutique textile company Smile Spinners.
